Mr. Palmer, a life-long entrepreneur, owner of diverse business interests, strategic planner, real estate developer, market & economic feasibility authority, and technology & real estate financier, is the founder of the Amerivest Group.
Mr. Palmer holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Master of Architecture Degree, Master of Business Administration Degree, and has completed doctoral studies in finance. He has taught at the undergraduate level, lectured internationally, and held numerous appointments in professional & civic organizations, including the City of Detroit; State of Michigan, including the Downtown Development & Regional Business Development Chair for Detroit's Central Business District Association, and various charitable organizations nationally. He has been published in an array of professional journals, including Craines' publications and numerous marketing & business trend publications internationally. He has held several gubernatorial appointments from Michigan Governors, Jim Blanchard and John Engler, and has been active nationally in federal education policy initiatives sponsored by the Administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush.
Mr. Palmer was the founder of the American Scientific Manufacturing & Construction Corp., which engineered and manufactured custom environmental facilities for high-tech applications worldwide, from 1981 through its’ acquisition in 1987. He has developed effective marketing and strategic plans for national real estate developers and construction management firms since 1975, including Utley James Inc., and the Barton Malow Company, as well for the telecommunications industry, and emerging technology companies.
He was a managing partner with a venture capital & development company in Detroit investing in a consortium of businesses included real estate; leisure/recreation projects & facilities; specialty automotive; building materials technologies; and telecommunications.
As President and CEO of Amerivest Properties, he managed the company's numerous development activities and operating properties in excess of $100 Million in revenue annually, including construction management, design and planning, market and financial feasibility, marketing/leasing, financing, and property management nationally. As President and CEO of Palmer Holdings, a multiple operations organization overseeing the strategic investment & financial planning for various real estate and operating businesses, he managed operations for its’ national affiliates: Amerivest Management, Amerivest Development, Amerivest Construction, and Development Feasibility Associates. Amerivest's management team participated in, developed and/or constructed combined commercial, specialty industrial and technology projects in excess of over $2 billion since 1982. Mr. Palmer founded the Lionheart Group in 2001, with strategic offices in London and Zurich, and participated in the purchasing, enhancing, and exiting of moderately sized operating companies and projects having a valuation profile ranging from $10 Million to $100 Million Dollars. As the President of Americom Telemanagement Inc, founded in 1990, he pioneered the very first CLEC in the Midwest, with consistent EBITDA in excess of $5M annually. Americom continues as a recognized advisor to the telecommunications sector, and as a policy consultant worldwide.
Mr. Palmer has also been active in local, state and national politics & government policy decisions since 1979, and concurrently remains active in regulatory, education, and business issues nationally. Subsequent to becoming the Republican Nominee for US Congress in Michigan’s 10th District, Mr. Palmer served in the Michigan Legislature as Majority Whip, Education Chair, as served as a ranking member of numerous Policy and Appropriations Committees over four terms. He has been an advisor to telecommunication regulatory policy in both Michigan and nationally.
Subsequent to his recent retirement from the civic arena, Mr. Palmer, along with colleagues from around the world, restructured the focus of the Amerivest legacy, and launched a new vision under the banner of the Amerivest Group in order to combine strategic planning capabilities, a cadre of operational analysts, governmental experience, private & public finance capability, in order to focus on transformational emerging operating technologies, embracing artificial intelligence, creating a “21st Century, turn-key business solutions organization focused on strategic acquisitions and the reinventing and rejuvenating of private sector organizations”, since late 2009.
